St James the Great is a two-form entry RC Primary and Nursery School for children aged 3-11 years old. There are currently 445 children on roll.
Applications for September 2026 are now open
National Offer Day for Reception places will be Thursday 16th April 2026
Parents applying for Nursery and Reception places should complete the relevant Supplementary Information Form which can be found at the bottom of this page. Copies are also available at the school office.
This form should be returned to the school, together with the required supporting documentation by the closing date stated below. Completion of the supplementary forms is not mandatory; however, if one is not received, applications will be considered under category 10 as stated on our admissions policy. Our Open Mornings will be on Friday 4th October and Friday 18th October at 9:15am - registration for these mornings will open shortly - please check back at a later date.
Deadline for Supplementary Forms:
- Nursery: 12pm, Thursday 15th January 2026
- Reception: 12pm, Thursday 15th January 2026
All applications will be considered using the school's published Admissions Policies which can be found below.
PLEASE NOTE: For Reception places, there is also a requirement to complete an online application with your local authority. You can do so by clicking the link below and following the instructions on the EAdmission webpage. The government deadline to submit applications for Reception is Thursday 15th January 2026.
IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS
For In-Year applications, please download and complete the In-Year Admission Registration Form below and return to the school along with your supporting documents. Once your application has been processed, you will be contacted by the school to inform you if we have an available space for your child or if your child has been placed on the waiting list. Hard copies of the form are also available at the School Office.
